Poem a Day/ April 27th, 2011 – Kat Dixon

RIGHT THROUGH/ Kat Dixon

Telephone told us
fire in the walls,

but the house was quiet-
quiet on arriving.

The car came and everything
else. Two forecasts

unfastened at the hip,
again where brother left

the bruise. Two hammer
shades of purple

and we hit it off
like matchsticks.
